Twisted and gray
Intricate and cracked
Like a maze
Reaching toward the heavens
Cold, indifferent, haunting
Insatiable and grasping
Lifeless limbs grabbing
For all they cannot have
Glittered with contrast
A pale purple layer of hope
Truth, beauty, happiness
The calm serenity
Attached to death
A patient blanket of understanding
Blooming acceptance
Tufts of safety and comfort
Bunches of neutral forgiveness
Affixed to branching ends
Such unrelenting beauty
And unending tranquility
Growing from emptiness
Longing and sorrow
With time and from lonliness
Comes strength and poise
Peace and resplendence
The pale purple flowers
Of the Jacaranda Tree
Rain down
On the grave
