Day 24

Technically Day 25 reflecting on Day 24. I was way too tired to write last night. I had a nice dinner out with friends. When I say nice, it was the best! We went to Shoreline Village and it turns out it was the Long Beach Lesbian and Gay Pride event. It was all an interesting night.

We tried on some hats at the hat shop and got bitched at by some jerk because Mikey can easily reach the ones on the wall and apparently you can't do that. Note to self: I look awesome in a Sherlock Holmes hat. Must get one.

When we put our name on the waiting list for dinner, we told them we were Donner, party of four. What was even funnier was that they didn't get it.

Then we messed with our waiter and saw interesting sights. I thought about sailing with Luke out of that harbor. I really miss him and just...wish I knew why he hated me so much.

Then there was a huge accident. No squealing tires. Just a huge crash and the horn. I hate when the horn goes. It's either broken or someone is broken on it holding it down. I explained that to Mikey as I pushed him out the door. He was the first person on the scene and no one else had phones. Thankfully, the horn was just broken. Three teens in an Eclipse hit a truck turning left when they ran the light and didn't even brake. A 16 year old without a license was driving. The truck driver was nice enough to turn down the reasonable ability to have him arrested.

One teen was shunned. An 18 year old. Her friends told her to go away, the cop didn't want to talk to her, and that it was all her fault because they were driving her somewhere. She said it was her aunt's house, but I know better. They were driving her somewhere she wasn't supposed to be. I'm assuming a boyfriend because her "aunt's" number texted my phone I was letting her use to say he loves her and it's his fault for wanting her to stay over and it should have been him instead and he loves her so much. With the text lingo and symbols...that isn't your aunt girlie.

She let slip she'd been in the hospital that morning. Then she mentioned "pregnancy" over and over on the phone. She had ice on her stomach and wouldn't let anyone see. I think she was either pregnant or has just terminated a pregnancy.

Lots of lying going on with that group. They pretended only two had been in the car while the third girl hid behind me. The cop was told, of course. It'll be the job of the police to figure out what happened that night. Not mine. All I knew was I had a hurt teenage girl who had no way home. I took her where she wanted to go. From there, she will do what she thinks is best, but at least I tried.

We waited around in a scary part of town with her until her "cousin" met us. He offered us money, but I didn't take it. I'll take the Karma instead.
